Exotic remoteness at its best.
- About Business
Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa projects a sense of exotic remoteness which is belied by the fact that it is located only 90 minutes by car from Cairns and 30 minutes from Port Douglas, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. The Greater Daintree Rainforest has existed continuously for more than 110 million years. Most importantly, it represents the largest surviving tract of tropical lowland rainforest on the Australian continent, remnant of Gondwana land. Many scientists and researchers have discovered rare and endangered species of bird, wildlife, plants and fungi on the property. Some fungi which grow in nothing less than 99% pure air... just a glimpse of how special and unique this property is! Jungle-clad mountains sweep steeply downward in a rich veil of green to touch the blue of the Coral Sea, creating some of the most scenically stunning landscapes. The higher summits, often shrouded in mist, create a mood of ancient mystery.
- Services
Only 15 quality rainforest villas occupy secluded positions amongst the world's oldest living rainforest, reinforcing the impression of being 'at one with nature'. The importance and inspiration of the ancient rainforest is incorporated into what has to be Australia's most unique Health and Relaxation Spa. The surroundings are part of the restorative therapy; the forest, the rain and the natural life were the inspiration for the Spa's design. It is the pristine water flowing from the waterfall and the use of the property's natural resources of ginger, ochres and muds that brings everything together to soothe the spirit.
- Activities
One of the "must do" experiences while staying at Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is to enjoy the dining experience at Bilngkumu Restaurant. The expertise of their internationally acclaimed chefs will have you surrendering to what many state is true Australian gourmet cuisine. The Lodge takes advantage of the pure natural spring water which originates from the propertys' own pristine waterfall. This water provides the total supply for guest usage and resort operations and is regularly tested by the authorities and is said to be the purest water in the region.
